Uniform Contestant Selection:

Unless arranged in advance, Games and Theory asks that contestant selection (in the case of shows with two to four contestants “on stage”) be achieved by random draw of raffle tickets from audience members who wish to participate in said show.

This has proven the least time-consuming method to get the show on the road in the limited time available.  Raffle tickets will be provided free of charge by All-Con Games and Theory to game show producers in advance of their shows.
Please make arrangements to collect a supply of tickets with Cole Houston or Games and Theory staff as much ahead of time as possible.  Tickets are being provided to insure that only colors not being utilized for The JediCole Universe/Half-Ass Productions sponsored All-Con Grand Prize are in circulation for contestant selection.  See the All-Con Grand Prize page for details about participating in this program.

All-Con Game Shows Cards

Several years ago Games and Theory began utilizing the official All-Con Game Shows cards in all productions by The JediCole Universe/Half-Ass Productions.  These were purchased in batches of 500 by the JCU for the purpose of adding a uniform presentation and a polished look to the production of game shows.

A generous subsidy on the part of All-Con has allowed for a larger volume purchase of cards, which double as promotional postcards for the Game Shows track (as well as the convention itself).  This translates into a greater availability of cards for use by all game show producers.  If you would like to utilize these cards in your own game shows, please contact Cole with the quantity of individual cards you need for your show(s).  Arrangements will be made to mail cards to you well in advance of the show weekend.

The face of the cards provide a slick, professional looking card for the contestants and audience to see while the reverse card features text promoting Games and Theory and All-Con.  For the purpose of game shows, this side can be utilized to affix individual questions (using label paper or taping printed pieces of paper to the card) covering up the printed copy.  This is the actual principle use of these cards, the promotional aspect was simply an added bonus feature for the convention itself.

While use of the All-Con Game Shows Cards is not mandatory, it is highly recommended.  One of the goals in 2016 is to bring as much uniformity to all game shows as possible, while still respecting the individuality of each production.

Welcome to Games and Theory - The All-Con Game Shows Track

Greetings from Group Captain Cole "JediCole" Houston!

I cordially welcome you to All-Con Game Shows as a participating contributor in the eleventh year of the track.  Whether a returning producer and/or host or new to the department, this site has been created as a guide to all things Games and Theory and should be utilized solely by contributors.  A second page is under consideration for the individual profiling and promotion of this year's slate of shows.

This page will feature guidelines on production of shows and outline specifics to keep the track as uniform from show to show as possible.  2016 marks the first year that all game shows, regardless of content or origin, fall under the Games and Theory umbrella.

One advantage of this change is universal access to the Eggspert which has been in use for the past four years.  All-Con has provided two units to the department to ensure the maximum potential for utilization of this vital tool by all game shows that require a system for contestants to "buzz in".  Visit the Eggspert Page for details on its use and care during your productions.

Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines and suggestions outlined here and contact me directly with questions, concerns, or requests for changes specific to the format of your own game shows.
